The dupatta

The top is left minimal, printed with small dots and geometric floral blocks in white and magenta on dark blue. The dupatta answers it with a much denser dot field and a wide rectangular border band along its edges, so the drape becomes the piece people look at.

Styling

A restrained top with a decorated dupatta is the easiest formula to wear to office and then straight to an evening function. Stitch the top plain and unfussy, keep the neckline simple, and let the bordered dupatta and a single magenta detail carry the outfit.

Dots look simple and are anything but, since a hand-stamped dot field shows every hesitation in the printer's arm. In Bhagalpur this dark blue Katan silk is worked with a small dotted block across the length, then edged with a wide geometric border block on the dupatta. Every impression is placed by hand, so the small shifts where two blocks meet are the artisan's signature rather than a fault.

1. Is there enough fabric for a larger size?
Yes. With 2.5 metres on every piece it stitches up to 4XL for a straight kurta set, and the length can be customised for larger sizes.

2. Will the white and magenta bleed into the dark blue?
No. The fabric is colour-fast and does not bleed on the first wash, so lighter areas of the print stay clean.

3. Is the dupatta matching or contrast?
It is a matching dark blue, but printed very differently from the top: a dense dot field with a wide geometric border along its edges, against a much more restrained top.

4. Does it need a lining?
No. The fabric is opaque, so it can be stitched unlined. A lining is purely optional, added only to elevate the look.
