Repeating geometric starbursts in yellow and white cover the black pieces, while the dupatta switches to floral clusters on pink, both closed with linear banded edges. It is the boldest contrast pairing in the collection and the reason this set does not need any styling help.

Black is unforgiving to print on, because every stray mark shows. The Bhagalpur artisans stamp the starburst block across the black Katan silk and then print the dupatta separately in pink with a floral cluster block, matching the two by eye at the banded edges. Every impression is placed by hand, so the small shifts where two blocks meet are the artisan's signature rather than a fault.

1. Will the pink dupatta bleed onto the black pieces in the wash?
No. The fabric is colour-fast and does not bleed on the first wash, so lighter areas of the print stay clean.

2. Is the dupatta matching or contrast?
Contrast. The top and bottom are black with geometric starburst motifs, while the dupatta is pink with floral clusters, both finished with banded edges.

3. How can I tell it is genuinely hand block printed?
Look closely at the repeats. Every motif is stamped from a hand-carved wooden block, so the register shifts a little and no two impressions land identically. A screen or machine print gives a flat, perfectly uniform repeat; this one does not.
