The cross motif

A small geometric cross repeats across the magenta pink at close intervals in off-white, fine enough to read as a texture from a distance. The dupatta breaks that rhythm with long rectangular borders of flowing floral scrolls at the ends, closed with fringe.

Styling

Bright pink asks for restraint everywhere else, so a straight kurta and a plain narrow pant serve it best. Keep the jewellery silver or pearl rather than gold, and let the scrolled dupatta ends fall in front so the border shows.

On this magenta Katan silk the cross motif is stamped across the top and the bottom in Bhagalpur, and the dupatta ends are given a separate floral scroll block. 1. How can I tell this is genuinely hand block printed?
Look closely at the repeats. Every motif is stamped from a hand-carved wooden block, so the register shifts a little and no two impressions land identically. A screen or machine print gives a flat, perfectly uniform repeat; this one does not.

2. Will the pink bleed on the first wash?
No. The fabric is colour-fast and does not bleed on the first wash, so lighter areas of the print stay clean.

3. Does a bright pink kurta need a lining?
No. The fabric is opaque, so it can be stitched unlined. A lining is purely optional, added only to elevate the look.

4. Is there enough fabric for a larger size?
Yes. With 2.5 metres on every piece it stitches up to 4XL for a straight kurta set, and the length can be customised for larger sizes.
