The Warli print
Bhagalpur artisans stamp the figures one block at a time, which is why the little dancers and huts crowd together at some repeats and breathe at others. A horizontal band of stylised linear motifs closes the hem, so the print has a finish rather than simply stopping.
Light blue notes lift the yellow off the dark ground and keep the density from turning heavy.
The silk and the styling
Katan silk gives this set its quiet lustre and a graceful drape, and it stays opaque enough to wear without a lining. At 600 to 650 g for the full set, it carries easily through an office day.
The dark ground makes it an easy office and daily-wear choice; oxidised silver and a plain yellow or ivory clutch pick up the figures without competing. Hand block printed on Katan silk in Bhagalpur is a combination almost nobody else stocks - most folk-art block prints you will find are cotton.

How can I tell this is genuinely hand block printed and not machine printed?
Look closely at the repeats. Every motif is stamped from a hand-carved wooden block, so the spacing shifts a little from one impression to the next and the colour sits slightly differently in each. A screen or machine print gives a flawless, identical repeat; this one never does, and that is your proof it was printed by hand.
Will the yellow print bleed into the dark blue when I wash it?
No. The fabric is colour-fast and does not bleed on the first wash. Dry clean it the first time, then a gentle cold hand wash keeps it looking new.
What comes in the set?
Three unstitched pieces: a top of 2.5 metres and a bottom of 2.5 metres, both 44 to 45 inches wide, and a dupatta of 2.5 metres at 35 to 36 inches wide.
Does it need a lining?
No. The fabric is opaque, so no lining or aster is needed. Some customers still add one to elevate the drape, but that is a styling choice rather than a requirement.
Can it be stitched for a plus size?
Yes. There is enough fabric to stitch a straight kurta set up to 4XL, and the length can be customised for larger sizes.
What if I do not like the shade when it arrives?
