The repeat drifts by a hair in places and the ink sits deeper on some motifs than others. Both are the wooden block, pressed by hand.

Purple is a demanding ground to print on: too little pigment and a pale motif disappears into it, too much and the outline spreads. Yes. The silk is opaque, so a kurta can be stitched without a lining or aster. A lining can still be added if you prefer a heavier drape.

Will the pale motifs stay clean after washing?
